Thank goodness for Hellebores this January. While the rain has fallen, the gales howled, these sturdy little gems have flourished. Such shy, special flowers, with their drooping heads: gymnastics often happen just to capture their beauty.
Daphne Odorata and Camellias have held their own too, adding a little more colour to an otherwise bare scene.
My very busy other half has retreated indoors with garden furniture to paint. The only course of action during the monsoon season. On a rare dry day I was able to capture his handiwork, along with the summer house, newly repainted.
The magnolia is showing off its structural beauty at the moment. This lower area is so much lighter and spacious in the winter.
Pots of Heuchera , alpines and tete a tete daffodils to view from the sitting room. How is your garden this January? Have you any hidden gems? Do pop over to see Sarah at Down By The Sea for her Through The Garden Gate. Also pop and see Riitta for Floral Bliss.
